Den som gjorde att jag började intressera mig för oral history var nog den amerikanska radiojournalisten och muntliga historikern Studs Terkel. Hans koloss “Working” stod länge på min läslista. Bokens underrubrik “People talk about what they do all day and how they feel about what they do” är precis vad boken handlar om. Den består av över hundra intervjuer där folk berättar om sina jobb, från gruvarbetare till receptionist till skådespelare till börsmäklare.
